Yesterday, we sadly had to say goodbye to Coach Roger. When we came to practice, we noticed he had very labored breathing. I took him to the vet where we found out his lungs were 3/4 of the way filled with fluid. He was struggling to breathe. After consulting with the veterinarian, we made the painful decision to let him go. We knew this time would come but was hoping we would have many years but sadly we only had months. When the doctor said we would only be buying time and explaining what we would need to help Roger, I knew I would just be selfish if I put him through that. Feline Leukemia is an awful disease. We said our goodbyes and held him until the end. It was peaceful and he is now chasing the dogs and climbing the trees in Kitty Heaven. We will miss him greatly! He was loved by many and will never be forgotten. RIP Roger!
